JD Jojoba Oil: Reducing Sebum with Anti-Acne Potential

Jojoba Desert’s newest studies prove JD Jojoba Oil usage results in sebum secretion reduction with anti-acne potential.

Usage of vegetable and carrier oils in their pure form to maintain daily skin care routine is becoming more and more in demand. However, one of the concerns using pure oils on facial skin is that it might clog and or enlarge pores.

As Jojoba Oil mimics the human sebum by 25%, Jojoba Desert wished to learn if applying Jojoba oil to the face would signal the skin to reduce the secretion of sebum, resulting in healthier-looking skin.

The first stage was to conduct a study to evaluate the effect of JD Jojoba Oil on sebum secretion.

  • 20 female panelists (average age 45) with combination and oily skin types
  • 28 days of twice a day application as a moisturizer

The results indicated that JD Jojoba Oil reduces the secretion of sebum by an impressive 23% after 28 days of regular application.

After that, JD set out to determine the effectiveness of JD Jojoba Oil on specifically acne-prone skin.

  • Clinical study with 20 female volunteers (average age 45) with mixed oily to oily facial skin with acne grade 1 to 2 on the GEA scale, 28 days of twice a day application.

The results showed that JD Jojoba Oil has anti-acne potential and an excellent dermatological tolerance for combination to oily facial skin.

“The studies show that long-term usage of JD Jojoba Oil leads to marked skin improvement, especially for those suffering from acne prone skin and oily skin,” says Lee Reuveni, CEO, Jojoba Desert. “Moreover, its anti-inflammatory profile soothes irritated skin, resulting in a healthier, clearer complexion.”
